Course Overview
Changes Compared to the Previous Course Plan
- The course plan has been rewritten to be directly based on the MYH application, rather than structured around the previous course version
- The course focus has shifted from a more general AI-in-video-production perspective to clearly emphasising professional workflows in DaVinci Resolve with integrated AI functions
- DaVinci Resolve has moved from being one tool among others to a defined industry-standard production environment, aligned with the application
- The course now more clearly reflects the full professional editing workflow, including:
- import and structuring of material
- editing
- basic colour correction
- audio processing
- export according to industry standards
- AI has been reframed from being partly tool- or feature-driven to being an integrated part of established workflows, used for:
- automation
- analysis
- optimisation
- decision support
- The learning outcomes have been revised to align with the application and now place stronger emphasis on:
- analysis of existing workflows
- identification of efficiency improvements
- methodological and technical decision-making
- professional responsibility in AI use
- Ethical and legal aspects (copyright, integrity, responsibility) have been strengthened and are now positioned as part of professional judgement, not as a separate topic
- The teaching and assessment structure has been adjusted from a platform-specific setup (LMS, Discord, fixed test formats) to a more professionally oriented model based on:
- practical tasks
- workflow analysis
- structured feedback
- evaluation against industry-relevant criteria
- The description of the course has been aligned to reflect application-based wording and scope, including:
- AI-supported editing and post-production
- automation and workflow optimisation
- handling of large media volumes
- Entry requirements remain at 12 months of professional experience, but are now more clearly tied to:
- professional production contexts
- ability to analyse and improve workflows
- readiness for post-secondary level study
- Certification (DaVinci Resolve Certified Editor) is no longer positioned as a defining outcome, but remains implicitly supported by the course content
